At The Pickle Guys, we’re proud to carry on a tradition that dates back over a century. Nestled in the heart of the Lower East Side, we’re the last standing pickle store on Essex Street, a neighborhood once known for its bustling pickle markets. Since 1910, Essex Street has been home to numerous pickle shops, and today, we are honored to keep that legacy alive.
We craft our pickles the old-fashioned way, using an authentic Eastern European recipe passed down through generations. Our barrel-cured pickles sit in a natural salt brine, infused with garlic and spices, for up to six months—without any preservatives—just like mom used to make.
But we’re not just about pickles! We offer a wide range of traditional and unique delights, from Pickled Watermelon and Russell Borscht to our newer favorites like Pickled Turnips and Pickled Pineapples. And, two weeks before Passover, you can find us outside, grinding fresh Horseradish from peeled roots, keeping this beloved holiday tradition alive.
At The Pickle Guys, we’re all about preserving the taste of the past while offering a modern twist on old classics. Stop by and taste the tradition for yourself!
